In Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) , a two step login process is involved for successful login of a user in to CMx.As a first step user has to provide valid username and password in the login screen. Successful login using username and password will result in CMx prompting for the MFA 6 digit code in a second subsequent screen to login where user needs to enter the correct MFA code for the user from the mobile application Google Authenticator.

MFA Process flow:

  1. CMx Administrator can enable one or more users for MFA using the Settings in Multi Factor Authentication Screen. Admin can select the users for whom the MFA needs to be enabled and clicks on save.
  2. After step 1 above, when the configured user whose MFA is enabled (in step 1 by the admin),on first time login, after successful username/password login screen will see an additional one time registration .
  3. Open Google Authenticator App-> Select Menu Option->Setup Account-> Scan a barcode -> and point to the above barcode in the screen till you hear a beep sound which indicates successful registration of bar code in Google Authenticator App. Once barcode is successfully registrated, enter the 6 digit numeric code for the user registered from google authenticator app to the input text box and click on send button.
  4. If invalid code is entered , CMx will display a invalid code error.
  5. On all subsequent login of the same user , no QR/bar code registration required in the Google Authenticator App. Only the 6 digit numeric code needs to be entered for successful user login.
